davidteoh: Is it? Wow, that's certainly news to me then. It's hard to believe that Sydney Uni could be so 'radical' in that it modified its archi course till the extent it almost got derecognised! :P On the contrary, I've always thought that Sydney Uni was very much a traditionalist "establishment" institution instead. I'll have to ask some achi friends about this then.

On the admin part, I have to agree with that. The bureaucracy here isn't pretty. While other unis allow their students to change their timetables online, Sydney Uni still make its students line up in long queues at the start of every sem. Ridiculous!

I think a main reason why not many malaysians go to sydney uni is because of the university's own marketing department. Applications to Sydney uni take almost forever to process while other unis like UNSW and Melbourne reply promptly. That's from my personal experience. As an architecture student, Sydney uni almost got derecognised for its archi course in the late 80s because of some drastic changes it made to the program. it hasn't fully recovered from that stigma and as an unsaid rule - not many people doing architecture opt to go there.

Sorry mate, I'm taking a 1st year Econ subject now, and I don't see any sign of him. Maybe he's a tutor and I didn't get him.

Was he your lecturer in Malaysia? From which college? What is his name?

Hey there Hello! Thanks for dropping by.

No, I didn't know about that there was a Malaysian lecturer here last year. I don't think he's here anymore though. What did he teach?

Malaysian academics are generally a dedicated and intelligent bunch of peeps. I'm sure he would have absolutely no problem here :D
